Bollie Shade burst onto the scene as a regular guest on the "Doug King & The Chief" show on KPFT, Houston's Pacifica radio station in the late 1970s. Shade's career was the subject of a mockumentary, "The Vinyl Days," which premiered at the Houston Film Festival in 1982. He has continued to produce somewhat unforgettable music to the present day.
